Not only do I love playing the electric bass guitar but I spend a great deal of time doing research on the various components that make up a bass in hopes of better understanding how they influence the playability and voice of the intrument. I've been modifying guitars and basses for over 20 years and have also constructed them from raw materials. My most recent endeavor involves researching, designing and fabricating my own pickups.
My goal for the "BottomDwelling" site is to offer information and instruction of how to perform certain modifications such as epoxying a fretless neck, setting up a bass, making your own pickups and rewiring the harness of your bass to offer a little more versatility than was originally intended for your bass.
Now and then I'll also include rants about issues/rumors/bull-shit that I hear being perpetuated but seem to have no real-world validity yet are commonly accepted as fact.
